MYRADOON
Going with traces of our mission, we released one more child from the orphanage and joined him with his mother. Anna originally had been in our shelter. Had her first born and left after few months. She came to our shelter again in November, 2017 with her second child straight from the hospital. A new baby boy. She left her older son Daniel in an orphanage because of her extremely bad financial situation. She was sad and depressed all the time as she was longing for her first child whom she hadn’t seen for 8 months. We turned to Armavir municipality to help us to bring the child to our center. They prepared all the necessary documentations.
We are grateful to Astine Apitonyan for giving a quick respond to our issue and provide us with all the

Our resident’s life become more interesting and more colorful when they participate in cultural events. In the beginning of January, theaters donated us tickets for children and adult performances. Our residents went to the Puppet Theather for the children. Mid January we took them to a performance organized by another church. Another evening, we took them to Yerevan City tour, and they enjoyed Yerevan by night. Christmas evening, they went to Ejmiatsin Mother Cathedral. After holy liturgy, the Christmas dinner was waiting for them in our center!
|
We continue our Bible Study classes, with the leadership of Armenian Apostolic church priest. In January Father Partev did the Christmas celebration, the water Blessing (Jrorhneq) and blessed the whole center. All our residents plus people from neighboring villages attended the ceremony. He also blessed our food and then we celebrated the birth of Jesus and his Baptism.
Two of our little residents continuously cried every Sunday to participate in the communion. Due to them not being Baptized, they were not allowed to do so. We organized a baptism specially for them with our Priest. They both got baptized in St Mariam (Astvatsatin) church.
now they both participate in the liturgy ceremony at the alter with Ter Partev and serve our church as real Christians.
In the center of the dinning room a beautiful table with fruits and desserts was waiting for them to celebrate the event!
May the love and grace of God always be with our children.
We express our gratitude to

The shelter is full of women with their children. Now we have 15 women and 26 children, moreover, there are 5 mothers and 7 children living in the “Post Shelter” units. December is full of birthday parties, events, gifts, joy etc.
As the holidays were closer, we were busy with organizing parties, preparing presents for all the participants of our programs and kindergartens of Ptghunq and Musaler who had a New Year performance and invited us to take part in it. Our shelter little residents surprised us with their great New Year performance. The children were, reciting poems and singing. Our special gratitude goes to Armine, who is coming as a volunteer and plays a piano for our children. |
At the end of December, like every Friday, we started the day with “Bible Study” and then gave our elderly a festive luncheon. A surprise was waiting for them-in our big hall we prepared New Year’s gifts. The festive mood got to its top under festive music, the staff and the elders danced and enjoyed their time.

NEWS & EVENTS
At our elders request, we planned a Sevan trip on Friday and Seta Kurdahi sponsored the trip expense and Hrach & Araz Ghazarian sponsored the usual Friday meal. With the head of Mrs.Ghazarian, staff, shelter residents and elders had an amazing trip.
Every time before our staff goes to deliver aid to a community, the warehouse keeper makes all the clothing bags by their names according to the lists sent by municipalities. On the distribution day village mayor sends a van so we put all the bags in it and follow them and organize the distribution process ourselves. More than 400 people receive humanitarian aid on each visit.
Our staff was busy visiting villages of different provinces. In Kotayk province The villagers of Alapars were waiting for us . The distribution was well organized. 90 needy families received humanitarian aid.
After distribution of Alapars village we went to Lusabats camp where all the campers are children from needy families, we donated them T-shirts, lots of Stainless steel kitchenware for the camp kitchen and also tomatoes from our green house.
In our recent newsletters, we had written about Lusine and her daughters: after 8 years we organized their meeting.
As we promised to the village mayor, we went to help all the needy people in his village and once again Lusine had another chance to see her daughters.
We distributed humanitarian aid to 105 needy families in Abovyan village, Ararat region. Villagers were waiting in front of Mayor’s house. We provided them with clothing, shoes, bags, toys and other necessary items.
After distribution Lusine gave presents to her daughters supplied by ALCF and also money which she earned by working in the green house and kept it for that special occasion.
Both Lusine and the girls were very happy and we hope that this will be the beginning of their relationship and from now on they’ll meet more often and without our intervention.
This month we were busy with celebrating parties and events .As the number of our residents increased ,so did the number of birthdays. We had 4 birthday parties and 2 (adamhadig) tooth parties this month. The lovely atmosphere that governs our Myradoon, and all these events have a good influence on their psychosocial state.

GUESTS & EVENTS
Our guests have a very positive effect on our residents.
- Fuller Center visited our facilities with 15 of their participants headed by Leo Manuelian of NJ. They toured and had lots of questions. They were all flabbergasted with our activities and were emotional with shelter residents.
We prepared a dessert and fruit table for them. - AYF Youth Corp of CA visited our facility. 25 young adults enjoyed a delicious meal toured the facilities, played with the children and left with heavy hearts and contentment.
They promised to help our foundation in packing and shipping from CA. They played the piano and sang Armenian national songs.
It has been 2 years since Hratch and Araz Ghazarian started sponsoring “Feed the elders” program every Friday. In addition to Tuesdays. This makes our elders feel healthier.
Hratch Ghazarian’s family visited our center during the Friday luncheon. Elders were very happy to meet them. They prayed together, then helped us serve the elders. After lunch they spent their time with our residents and the children.
We had another successful and heart touching story in our shelter. One of our residents who had been living in our shelter almost 2 years now with 2 baby boys, turned out she had a serious psychological trauma 8 years ago that she kept it from us and tried to hide it for all this time. Working with our psychologist we found out she had 2 daughters from a previous marriage that she had been threatened and kept away from seeing them for 8 years now.
Our staff noticed she was getting more and more depressed and having lots of headaches. Her anger was being directed on these two baby boys.We gave her an ultimatum to stop hitting the children or she will be expelled from the program and the children will be taken away from her. She decided to speak. We offered to be an intermediator to arrange for her to meet her daughters after 8 years.
Talking with the mayor of their village, he agreed to help us get the OK from the father and the 2 daughters to see their mom.Now the mother is smiling all the time.
Soon we’ll arrange another meeting as we offered to go to the village and distribute clothing to the needy families of that village.
Our moms and children spent an amazing time on Sunday after church. Our founders Mr. & Mrs. Ghazarian took our residents to Echmiadzin Tashir Pizza. They ate delicious pizza, The children had a lot of fun in the play area.
ALCF continues distributing humanitarian aid to different provinces in Armenia.
Our staff drove 210 km to get to Norakert village in Gegharkunik region and distributed humanitarian aid to 97 needy families․
We provided them with clothing, shoes, bags, toys and other necessary items.
The village was in extreme bad condition. The villagers were surprised to see an organizations that travels the distance to give them humanitarian aid .
The village did not have a Mayor’s office. We gave the aid outside in an open area. Their gratefulness and satisfied faces made us feel our job well done.
We went to Haghartsin village in Tavush region and distributed humanitarian aid to 112 needy families. GoharZaher and our executive director/founder Mrs. Seta joined in the distribution process as well.
We provided them with clothing, shoes, bags, toys and other necessary items.
