NEWS & EVENTS

   Armenia is still fighting against the invisible enemy Covid 19. We are trying to go back to our normal lives with all the obstacles of the pandemic and the war.

  • The residents of ALCF celebrated the Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ/ Vardavar. The day was full of joy and happiness. The residents had water fights. They enjoyed fresh fruits, popcorn and sweets.
  • Two of our little residents celebrated their birthdays in July. They played and danced with their friends, enjoyed birthday cakes, fruits, sweets and juice. ALCF did everything to make their day bright and unforgettable.
  • ALCF received cheese donation from “Umcor Armenia”.

MYRADOON

  Living in such conditions, we try to keep our resident’s days busy, productive and educational.

  • Vocational trainings are ongoing at ALCF. The residents continue sewing classes, English and computer classes. They attend the classes with great enthusiasm and willingness to take as much knowledge as possible with them. The lessons help them feel more confident, strong and capable of finding a job to integrate into the community.
  • In July we welcomed Hasmik Edilyan who held a seminar about “The prevention of trafficking”. During the seminar they spoke about some trafficking cases, had a question-answer discussion. We held the seminar with face masks, social distancing and kept commandant’s demands.
  • This month was not an exception, we received many calls from victims of abuse. The foundation accepted newcomers. They stayed in quarantine for fourteen days and then, were transferred to the main building and joined the others.

 

AID TO COMMUNITIES

  • ALCF continued the program “Light of Hope”. In the framework of that program the foundation provided all the necessary items to the needy families, such as clothes, blankets, diapers, hygiene supplies, shoes, kitchen wares and so on. The distribution of the aid was done keeping all commandant’s demands.
  • The foundation also continued “Sponsor a family program” The distribution of funds, were welcomed more than ever.

  • All the businesses who donate clothing, blankets, and home goods to keep our “Light of Hope” program running.

NEWS & EVENTS

The pandemic, COVID-19, is still in the core of the whole world. People are fighting for both their living and their health. In such circumstances we, as a charitable foundation, do our best to help the needy to overcome all the difficulties with the help of our various programs and donors. In this period, we had many events at ALCF:

  • On the first of June we celebrated the International Children’s Day at ALCF. The
    clown entertained our children, they danced and enjoyed sweets, cake and fruits.
  • We had a donation from “Umcor Armenia”. As always they donated cheese for our
    residents. In addition, we won a grant from them for the little residents of our day
    care. This grant was given to us to make our children’s sleeping room pretty with
    new furniture․
  •  In June we received a 30 ft container from California, full of goods donated by you
    for the people in need in Armenia. Since then we have been distributing to the needy
    and the elders. We also gave Medical supplies to “Ejmiatsin MC”.

 

MYRADOON

Armenia is going on to be in the period of lock down and quarantine. These days we tried to make our residents’ days even more interesting and full.

  • Vocational trainings are ongoing. The foundation continues English and computer lessons. Moreover, the residents attend gym, do exercises there and try to stay fit and healthy in such conditions.
  • These days there were many calls from abused women and from women who underwent domestic violence. Myradoon accepted newcomers and tried to keep all security demands in order not to have any health cases.

The foundation takes all the efforts to help our residents’, and we do it with the help of donors. The contributions and donations are our basis to keep the shelter open.

AID TO COMMUNITIES    

  • The foundation was looking forward to receiving the container. And in June the container arrived with lots of necessary goods. The foundation went on helping
    people in need in the framework of “Light of Hope”. We provided wheelchairs,
    clothes, blankets, diapers, hygiene supplies, shoes, kitchen wares and so on. And
    we did it keeping all the safety, hygiene and commandant’s demands and of course social distancing.
  • The “Sponsor a family” program is also in process. Distributing the donations given by the donors makes the families happy.

WE EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE TO

  • “Dan Dessert” for donating cakes on the first of June for International Children’s Day
  •  “Umcor Armenia” CF for donating cheese․
  • Mary and Bedig Fermanian for their diaper donation many years ago in abundance still
    being distributed․ The residents also use the diapers to fulfill the needs of their children․
  • Kevork and Sevan Kalenderian for the upcoming container from China. In August we are
    looking forward to receiving a container full of necessary goods for the needy families in Armenia, also a large playground toys for the shelter.

Armenia: as the rest of the world, continues to struggle with finding the appropriate balance between health and safety. We continue life alongside coronavirus and couldn’t be indifferent to the lives of the most vulnerable families living in poverty and isolation therefore, the foundation gradually resumes its activities․

  • As not everyone has the opportunity to buy face masks, we decided to make face masks that will be donated to those in need.
  • At ALCF center we celebrated the Ascension of Jesus Christ. The residents wore traditional Armenian costumes and prepared a beautiful event.

MYRADOON

   Domestic violence has increased during corona virus lock down․ These days, we received many calls from abused women in need of shelter, as it was very dangerous for our shelter residents and their children, we decided to isolate the new comers in two of our post shelter homes for 14 days, then bring them back to the main building.
The participants of the “Post Shelter” program returned to their homes since they were allowed to work, but they needed a little support until they get back on track.
 We do our utmost to help the shelter residents with your help, because Your contributions are the only funds that help keep us going.

AID TO COMMUNITIES    

       In the frame of “Light of Hope” program we provided humanitarian aid to the families in dire need, observing all hygiene rules. Many families now need our help more than ever.

NEWS & EVENTS

COVID-19 continues staying global danger in the world.

In this tense situation, we are trying to find ways to keep the shelter open. Several programs of the foundation still have been suspended.

  • Easter was celebrated at ALCF center. As public events are banned to stop the COVID-19 pandemic and the residents couldn’t take part in a liturgy, they prayed at our chapel, the children played Easter Egg Hunt, then delicious Easter table was set for them.
  • April 24th is the day Armenians commemorate the victims of Armenian Genocide, the most tragic element of Armenian history. On that day in honor of the Armenian Genocide victims, the residents prepared a symbolic flash mob titled “I Remember and Demand.”

AID TO COMMUNITIES    

       In the frame of “Sponsor a family” program we continue distributing monetary assistance to families in dire need. These families now need Your generous donations more than ever.

 

MYRADOON

 As the number of officially registered coronavirus cases in the country rose, we remained in quarantine. In the country only a limited number of employees will be allowed to go to work. Many of Post Shelter’s residents don’t work, and those who could work remained at home for the health and safety of the shelter’s residents.

 At the beginning of the month, we decided to buy food for the post shelter families while they stay in their homes as their money depleted. Then we decided to bring them all back to the shelter’s main building to save the cost of the utilities that we had to pay.

We need your help to be able to keep our shelter open and take care of the shelter residents.

After the long and grim winter, spring has brought a new beginning.

The month was full of hopes, but unpredictable events shocked the whole world.

Several programs of the foundation have been temporarily suspended for the health and safety of our residents and the staff.

 

  • At the beginning of the month we celebrated International Women’s day. The elders enjoyed their day in the center. They received presents from ALCF, danced, sang, then took part in a festive treat. The Holiday was also wonderful for the shelter residents. We prepared presents for them as well.

MYRADOON

Due to COVID-19, we have locked the complex for the safety of our residents and that has put an extreme stress on the Foundation as well as the post shelter women who get to live rent free in a comfortable newly built homes in our complex but have to work to feed their children and pay their utilities. Due to the lock down, these residents lost their jobs and have no money to feed their children and pay their utilities We ask you to support these sheltered women. Please!!! They had already started their lives to feel independent and able to take care of their expenses and now they need help again. They are feeling sad and down!!!

 The residents are making the best of their time spent in quarantine and believe that together we can overcome COVID-19.

  • As it’s already spring, the residents are preparing the greenhouse for planting vegetables and other plants, they also have started gardening.
  • Our residents are taking advantage of this situation and sharpening their knowledge and skills. They are participating in computer, English, sewing, cooking, as well as in hairdressing and manicure classes deepening their preferred skill training.

  • On account of the situation in the world we were able to give humanitarian aid to the needy families only at the beginning of the month.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • Umcor Armenia Director Gohar Grigoryan and the program manager, Anahit Gasparyan, visited our ALCF center, got acquainted with the activities and the programs of the foundation. We thank them for their ongoing support․
  • We hosted several students from the Police Academy. They brought candies and cookies for our young residents. They were very excited leaving the center and promised to visit often.

 

MYRADOON

 There is love and solidarity atmosphere in Myradoon.

We are doing our utmost to make the residents’ day more enjoyable.

  • We celebrated a traditional Trndez at our center. Our priest came and lead us in worship. .Our residents then, took part in the traditional jumping over the fire.
  • The members of Child Evangelism Fellowship visited our center. They sang Christian songs, played with the residents various interesting games and gave them candy packages. The young residents always look forward for them to come.

 

  AID TO THE COMMUNITIES

  • Visiting hospitals has become a tradition. Mothers of newborns at Astghik Medical Center were excited to receive presents for their newborns from ALCF staff.
  • The Light of Hope program is ongoing. We thank God and our donors for the possibility to provide humanitarian aid to those who turn to us for help. The refugees from Syria are also benefiting from our charity in abundance.

  • The residents went to Russian drama theater and enjoyed the New Year’s performance. The tickets were donated by the director of the theater. This is the second year they are giving free tickets for the residents.
  • On Christmas Eve our residents went to St. Mary’s Church in Parakar, participated in the Holly Liturgy, then came back to the center and enjoyed the festive supper.
  • Every year after Armenian Christmas, a local priest comes by to bless the center․This year again the priest came and blessed the center as well as the bread, water and the salt and we gave it to the shelter residents and the staff.
  • The members of Child Evangelism Fellowship visited the center. They gave the young residents beautiful symbolic hats and balloons and prepared a performance about Armenian Army Day. After the performance the young residents received the candy packages.

MYRADOON

The days in the shelter are very full and exciting.

  • The residents take part in various classes and vocational trainings, as well as they regularly train in the gym. We do our best to improve not only the physical but also the mental state of the residents.The group therapy sessions help the residents deal with any issues they are facing․ We provide a safe space for the licensed psychologist and the residents to communicate.

 

   AID TO THE COMMUNITIES

  • We continue visiting hospitals and surprise mothers and newborns with presents.This month the newborns of Astghik, Ejmiatsin and Beglaryan Medical Centers received gifts from ALCF staff.
  • In the frame of Light of Hope program many underprivileged families received humanitarian aid. We’re able to provide them clothing, shoes, diapers, wheelchairs and other much-needed items donated by our supporters in California.

NEWS & EVENTS

 

 There is a New Year’s atmosphere in ALCF center.

  December was full of festive events and celebrations․

 

  • ALCF had an appreciation event in Glendale at Phoenicia restaurant. It was an amazing and successful event. Thanks to all our supporters.
  • Brigade Motorcycle Club did a toy drive for ALCF, delivered the toys to ALCF warehouse and went to Ghazarian residency in USA to meet the founders.
  • The members of Child Evangelism Fellowship prepared a surprise for the little residents. After the singing and playing various interesting games, they gave the little residents candy packages.
  • The participants of “Feed the Elders” program enjoyed ALCF Christmas party. They received presents from Santa Claus. Then took part in the festive luncheon․

·        ALCF staff was invited to a New Year performance of Musaler and Pthgunk kindergartens. At the end of the performances the staff gave presents to the pupils. The children were very happy receiving presents from ALCF.

MAYRADOON

  • The director of Hakob Paronyan State Musical Comedy Theatre provided free tickets of New Year performance for the shelter residents. It was an amazing performance.
  • The Mayor of Ptghunk village Karapet Artenyan donated tickets of festive concert. The residents enjoyed the concert, then walked around the festive streets of Yerevan.
  • The little residents with the help of Mrs. Tamar and Ruzanna prepared a wonderful performance about New Year. At the end of the performance Santa Claus gave them presents.
  • We celebrated New Year’s Eve with great enthusiasm. The residents prepared a small event-they sang songs, danced, and then Santa Claus came in and gave presents to everyone.

GUESTS & EVENTS

  • We hosted the students of Tairov secondary school headed by the principal M.Baghumyan. In the Occasion of “World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse”, the students prepared a surprise for our little residents in the form of sweets, songs and dances.
  • The Child Evangelism Fellowship members visit our center almost every month. This month they involved our little residents in games about the fall.
  • There is a Christmas atmosphere in ALCF. End of November, the staff and the residents decorated the whole center with great enthusiasm.

 

MAYRADOON

  • This month the shelter has been replenished with new residents. ALCF helps every woman and her children who have been abused.  Here they feel safe and secure. These women are given the hope, faith, and love that their lives will improve.
  • The vocational trainings are ongoing. The residents take part in sewing, manicure, pedicure, hairstyling, cooking classes as well as English and computer courses.The main objective of these lessons is to help our residents become more independent, feel less stressed and move on.

 

AID TO THE COMMUNITIES

  • We continue providing humanitarian aid to needy families and Syrian immigrants that turn to us for help. We provide them warm clothing, blankets, diapers, etc.
  • The staff of ALCF visited Ejmiatsin and Beglaryan Medical Centers and surprised the new moms with gifts to the newborns
  • We distributed winter warm clothing to the participants of “Feed the Elders” program.
  • The staff of ALCF visited Malatia kindergarten and distributed t-shirts to 62 pupils.

  • The members of Child Evangelism Fellowship for visiting and making the residents days happier.
  • The Tairov Secondary School headed by the principal M.Baghumyan for  preparing a surprise for our little residents
  • The donors for sponsoring Feed the Elders program. Due to your donations our elders are not hungry anymore and they feel loved and protected.
  • Mr & Mrs Kalenderian for donating 100 made in Armenia candles to be sold at the December 15 event.
  • Our supporters who accepted our invitation and were there with us on the 15th of December.

GUESTS & EVENTS

  • Salpy & Hoory Yeldezian visited ALCF center, took a tour around the facility and got acquainted with the programs of the foundation, were very excited about meeting with the participants of “Feed the Elders” program and sponsored the program’s luncheon next in turn.
  • We hosted Annie Shahoian, Sylva Aharonian & Sevan Grigorian, who were interested in activites of “Mayradoon” program.
  • Rita Cheuhmelian visited and passed a psychological therapy with the residents.

MAYRADOON

  • The members of Child Evangelism Fellowship presented performance about autumn for the little residents, sang songs, then treated the little residents with different kinds of fruits.
  • The Mayor of Ptghunk village Karapet Artenyan donated tickets of performance. The residents enjoyed the performance, then walked around Ejmiatsin.
  • With the help of Mrs. Tamara and Ruzanna our little residents prepared a wonderful performance about fall.
AID TO THE COMMUNITIES
 
  • The doors of ALCF are open to underprivileged families, the handicaps, as well as Syrian and Iraqi immigrants. We continue to provide humanitarian aid in the frame of “Light of Hope” program.
  • We visited Shengavit Medical Center and surprised 75 moms providing gifts to newborns.
