MYRADOON
One more left our center with definite steps: she had gained back the love and respect of her children, began appreciating the meaning of life. At these moments we compare their present with the past and it becomes obvious the great work that we do with every girl in our shelter. We give our girls the advantage, to get education, fill them with self-esteem and confidence and then slowly release them to continue their life outside the shelter with a new chapter in their life. After leaving the shelter we continue to assist them until they find their place in society. This is the main goal of Mayratoon program and every time it becomes more successful when the appreciates all this and takes advantage of the opportunities to restarts her life.
AID TO THE COMMUNITIES
The pleas for the assistance from underprivileged families multiplied in March: a lot of letters of request, lists of extended families from the communities, who need clothes, shoes, bags and other necessary items. So we helped the following communities this month:
We also gave aid to Armavir region’s communities who’s plantations suffered because of the weather:
Janfida: 10 families 57 people, Shenavan 35 families, 182 people, Nor Armavir 50 families, 250 people
Besides the villages, we also had a list of Armavir region’s 15 needy elder veterans; the Foundation did everything to meet their needs.
The needy families of the neighboring villages also receive baby food.
We continue helping every new immigrant (Syrian family) that comes to our doors and ask us for assistance.
The donated medical items of the different individuals that are collected in the US, was donated to Musaler’s and Ptghunk’s medical centers to be distributed to the villagers.
After research and travelling from one home to another, we have chosen 2 families that are most needy and enrolled them in our “Sponsor a Family” program thanks to the sponsors in the US. This money helps them buy medicine for their sick children, others to buy food and to solve many other problems.
CLASSES
We continue with our classes in vocational training. These include instruction in computers, manicure, pedicure, cooking and sewing. We are happy that many of our residents after leaving the shelter earn their living using these skills. Our volunteer gynecologist and dentists continue visiting us regularly as well. Two of our girls help the dentists, training to become dental assistants. Sometimes we also have guests who want to share their knowledge with our residents.A students from Nor Armavir visited us and taught our children a short lesson of dancing and singing and then gave some geographical information about our country.
We are sad to inform you that we have stopped for now our collection of gently used clothing due to the costs of shipping through UAF. Until further notice Please do not bring used cloths to our drop off locations.
On the other hand;We will take new clothing and new items to send in individual boxes through united shipping .We ask for your help … $40 will ship 40 pairs of shoes or at least 50 peaces of clothing. This will help us support the shelter women and children and the sponsored families with their needs.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DO THIS WORK. PLEASE SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS WITH THE UNFORTUNATE….
