Monthly Newsletter June 2020

NEWS & EVENTS

The pandemic, COVID-19, is still in the core of the whole world. People are fighting for both their living and their health. In such circumstances we, as a charitable foundation, do our best to help the needy to overcome all the difficulties with the help of our various programs and donors. In this period, we had many events at ALCF:

  • On the first of June we celebrated the International Children’s Day at ALCF. The
clown entertained our children, they danced and enjoyed sweets, cake and fruits.
  • We had a donation from “Umcor Armenia”. As always they donated cheese for our
residents. In addition, we won a grant from them for the little residents of our day
care. This grant was given to us to make our children’s sleeping room pretty with
    new furniture․
  •  In June we received a 30 ft container from California, full of goods donated by you
for the people in need in Armenia. Since then we have been distributing to the needy
and the elders. We also gave Medical supplies to “Ejmiatsin MC”.

MYRADOON

Armenia is going on to be in the period of lock down and quarantine. These days we tried to make our residents’ days even more interesting and full.

  • Vocational trainings are ongoing. The foundation continues English and computer lessons. Moreover, the residents attend gym, do exercises there and try to stay fit and healthy in such conditions.
  • These days there were many calls from abused women and from women who underwent domestic violence. Myradoon accepted newcomers and tried to keep all security demands in order not to have any health cases.

The foundation takes all the efforts to help our residents’, and we do it with the help of donors. The contributions and donations are our basis to keep the shelter open.

AID TO COMMUNITIES

  • The foundation was looking forward to receiving the container. And in June the container arrived with lots of necessary goods. The foundation went on helping
people in need in the framework of “Light of Hope”. We provided wheelchairs,
clothes, blankets, diapers, hygiene supplies, shoes, kitchen wares and so on. And
we did it keeping all the safety, hygiene and commandant’s demands and of course social distancing.
  • The “Sponsor a family” program is also in process. Distributing the donations given by the donors makes the families happy.

WE EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE TO

  • “Dan Dessert” for donating cakes on the first of June for International Children’s Day
  •  “Umcor Armenia” CF for donating cheese․
  • Mary and Bedig Fermanian for their diaper donation many years ago in abundance still
being distributed․ The residents also use the diapers to fulfill the needs of their children․

looking forward to receiving a container full of necessary goods for the needy families in Armenia, also a large playground toys for the shelter.
