EVENT  & NEWS

October 8th, we organized an event in Chocolateria in Cascade Yerevan. Thanks to the donors of the restaurant who allocated the place for us at no charge and thanks to Dr Onanian who was our angel to set it up. Our assistant Director Nelly Mesrobyan represented our programs to the guests who were invited from different spheres and organizations. She spoke about ALCF activities, Power Point presentation and video were shown. The manager of Myradoon spoke about different kinds of domestic violence and abuse that brought the beneficiaries to our shelter. She introduced our residents who wanted to speak about the abuse they carried for many years living with their abusive husbands.
In one of the corners, we displayed the residents’ hand-made arts and crafts.
The guests were very touched with the work we do for the underprivileged people and Myradoon residents. They shared their impressions about our center with one another. We had some discussions which was followed by questions & answers. Many of them went out with their eyes full of tears. At the end of the event they enjoyed the desserts prepared for them by our chef.

 AID TO THE COMMUNITIES

We had an extremely busy month. As it gets colder lots of individuals come to our center for warm clothing, jackets and blankets. We continue to help the Syrian Armenians as well. We drove hundreds of kilometers to get to far villages and give aid to those who are in extreme need for it. During this month, we visited 4 villages in Lori, then continued our way to Tavush region and distributed clothing and other items to the villagers of Gosh and  Khachardzan.
We gave warm winter clothing to the participants of ”Feed the Elders” program, on ALCF premises, we put a table full of clothing and shoes and they took whatever they needed.

End of October, we received a call from Armavir municipality. They informed us that a residential building of 11 homes have caught fire and burned. The residents became homeless, they were left in an open air. We gave a quick response (the next day) to their request. We donated them warm winter clothing, jackets, blankets, tooth brushes, tooth pastes, shoes, kitchenware and other necessary items.

MYRADOON
