Monthly Newsletter February 2015
MYRADOON
This month two additional victims of abuse with their innocent newborn babies took residency at the shelter. We have 11 girls and 12 children end of February living at the center. This month our residents started working in the green house and soon we will have lots of peppers. We promote the work of green House and teach most of our residents how to grow and maintain vegetable crops, because many of our residents come from farming communities, it is essential to their survival when they leave the shelter. We do our best to give them different venues to learn and work to earn money, helping them save for their future independence and healthy living outside our shelter. We celebrated Armenian traditional Trndez with our residents and staff. Everything becomes a reality, because of our founders who work day and night to make it happen. We thank our board members who stand behind us all.
This month we donated a lot of medical supplies to Ptghunk medical center. Also we gave assistance to the needy border village Ijevan. They face the dangers of war with Azerbaijan daily. As every month we had a lot of pleas for assistance from underprivileged families. We gave out baby food to the needy in neighboring villages. We continue helping Syrian families that come to our doors and ask us for assistance.
We received a call from Armavir municipality asking for help to a family who lost everything in a fire. They have six under age children. The fire began from electricity. The 4 year old child was able to pull his younger brother out of the house. We gave them lots of clothes, blankets, bedding, shoes, kitchenware and other necessity items. Our “Feed the Elders”, “Sponsor a Family” and “Bible Study” programs are going on full force because of the donors who help us make it a reality.
We express our deep gratitude to
Natali Pharm for donating organic Hipp baby food
- Gohar Margaryan for donating Humana baby food and medicine
- Arpimed clinic for donating medicine
- Diakonia for donating 60 boxes of food.
Our volunteer General Doctor Suzan Onanyan, Gynecologist Yeva Torosyan and the dentists Armen and Armine of Lux- Med dental clinic who continue their charity work, by providing a much needed medical care and attention to our residents ,and their children in our shelter and also, to the participant of our “Feed The Elders” and “Bible Study” programs.
