CHRISTMAS MOOD
We are always in service to the needy and the underprivileged, our organization has become a beacon of hope for women, children the elderly, and vulnerable families who are struggling to live a decent life. The pleas for the assistance from underprivileged families were multiplied in November and December: a lot of letters of request, lists of extended families from the communities, who need clothes, shoes, bags, toys and other necessary items. We have decorated our facility, and organized a lot of events during which all the participants of our different programs receive their Christmas presents.
DURING 2013 WE HAVE FULFILLED THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS:
“Feed the Elders” Program–Every Wednesday our van picks up 32 elderly men and women from neighboring villages and transported them to our center where they were fed a full, hot meal and received clothing, Thanks to our supporters. “Bible Study” –Hundreds of faithful from the surrounding villages come to listen to the Word of God from the local priest. Sponsor-a-Family Program” – Our U.S.-based donors support special families in need. Sponsorship of the Ptghunk Kindergarten
Our Hotline –It allows at-risk women, facing life and death situations, to get immediate help from our organization.
Medical Donations – We share what is donated to us with medical centers and hospitals.
Aid to Syrian Refugees & Families in Remote Areas – Our door have been open. We assist the Armenian families who have fled the war in Syria and came to Armenia with little to nothing of clothing and food. We also continue to give aid to individuals and families from remote villages that write to us for help.
Distribution of Important Necessities – We go all the regions including Artsakh to distribute clothing, shoes, toys, walkers, wheelchairs, bedside toilets, and household necessities from our Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters .
MYRADOON
Myradoon is where they live and learn a profession, which they could later use to make aliving. Despite the cold weather and the holidays all our girls participate mandatory in our classes of sewing, cooking, manicure/pedicure , computers and English conversation class. Our volunteer gynecologist and dentists continue visiting us regularly. Our Therapist works with our girls and their children. What we are trying to achieve is sense of individuality and usefulness to build their self-esteem and self-worth, and become active members of the society. This month our residents and their children visited Musical Chamber Theatre and then toured the city with the foundation’s car. We organized a great festivity for our residents and gave them a traditional Armenian New Year, with lots of food and gifts.
ALCF THANKS ALL OUR FRIENDS, SUPPORTERS AND SPONSORS FOR THEIR GENEROSITY IN 2013
