MYRADOON

September 1^st is a festive day in Armenia. It is the first day of starting a new school year, and is a holiday in our shelter as well. The lessons that our children received during summer months has its positive effect in school.Former residents who gave birth in our center, or just lived with their children and received education, now visit us, having a great understanding about motherhood. They receive not only material aid but also spiritual and psychological help, feel the warmth again, then filled with this warmth continue living outside Lighthouse but under ALCF sponsorship.

Our founders do their best to make our residents life more interesting and productive.Lately they put a volleyball net, organize movie watching for moms and cartoons for children and play badminton with them. Our therapist encourages such activities as this makes the girls stop thinking about their problems and feel loved and cared for.

CHARITY

The foundation wants to express its deep gratitude to Armenian Caritas and Hipp baby food for their donation. Because of such donations we are able to carry out our foundation’s work.  This month our foundation provided wedding gowns, wheelchairs, walkers and bedside toiletsto the underprivileged community people.                                       All who turn to us with their letters of requests receive, bags of clothes, shoes, toys and items of necessity and even food from our foundation.

VOLUNTEERS

We continue and even expand our dentistry room activities.  Today our patients are not only our residents but also with special approval neighboring community villagers who are very poor.

Emma Ghazarian from California joined our volunteer work this month. She did four facial lessons teaching our girls that it’s so important to always take care of their complexion and feel beautiful.

We express our deep gratitude to all our guests who do the smallest things for our residents.

Our “Feed The Elders”  “Sponsor a family” and “Bible Study” programs are going on full force because of people who help us make it a reality.

WE CAN NOT STOP

We started again to collect clothing mostly new and new shoes to send to Armenia. All donations we ask to accompany with a small monetary donation as well to help out with the shipping costs as UAF is not shipping free. We come to you for your help … We(Zuhrab and Seta) are witnesses to the fact that we cannot stop.The need is great!!! .The Syrian Armenians and the poor of Armenia knock on our doors daily .Help us help our brothers and sisters.
