MYRADOON
Myradoon’s Hot Line 20-80.The residents are increasing in our shelter. They come either through the Women’s rights center, Human rights center, churches, hospitals, Police or direct from our Hot-Line. This month three girls left our center and at the same time four new victims of abuse with their innocent children took residency here. One of them is seventeen years old. When she was fourteen already married, the bad social conditions and constant psychological and physical abuse made her ran away leaving her two children and her abusive husband behind. Thanks to the police, she was joined with her two children at our ALCF Myradoon. Here she enjoys the healthy atmosphere and learn to love her children. The other two are victims, homeless, and pregnant. The fourth one could not handle her drunken husband’s constant beating anymore, 10 years was long enough she ran away with her 3 year old.
Myradoon is where they live and learn a profession, which they could later use to make a living. All our girls participate mandatory in our classes of sewing, cooking, manicure/pedicure and computers.
Our volunteer gynecologist and dentists continue visiting us regularly. Two of our girls help out (being trained) in our dental room. Our Therapist works with our girls and their children. What we are trying to achieve is sense of individuality and usefulness to build their self-esteem and self-worth, and become active members of the community.
BIBLE STUDY
We continue our Bible Study classes with the leadership of Armenian Apostolic church’spriest attached to us from Etchmiazin diocese. We believe that the best way to fight the sects is through studying the Word of God. In the mid of August our founder, Seta Ghazarian, came and the bible study lessons became even more active and productive. Every Sunday our girls participate in Badarak in St Mary’s church of Parakar. We baptized 17 mothers and children ages 8 months to 65 years old. A madagh was distributed to the poor. After 3 days we did washing of Meron. Thank God for his blessings.
LIGHT OF HOPE
Sponsor a family: We are able to help the underprivileged families monetarily with the help of our sponsors from foreign countries This month we added a needy family from Etchmiazin. They live in extreme social conditions. The mother has two mentally ill children and a blind mother. She sweeps the streets of Etchmiazin to put a meal on the table. The sponsor is from Australia. Aid to the communities: ALCF continues to give aid to different communities in villages as well as different individuals who turn to us with their letters of requests. The underprivileged families receive bags of clothes, shoes, toys and items of necessity from our foundation. Feed The Elders: The elders that come from 4 neighboring villages plus Etchmiazin don’t stop their prayers and blessings to the sponsors. They have lunch, receive attention and love here. We also organize their transportation and often give them presents. $100 and you become a sponsor.
