MYRADOON

Life continues in our women’s shelter, Mayradoon. This month three additional victims of abuse with their innocent children took residency here. One of our residents, who has lived the last six months of her pregnancy in the quiet and peace atmosphere of our shelter, delivered a healthy baby. She is the 6^thMayradoon to have a baby. The goal of the Mayradoon program is to show our residents that babies have a right to live and motherhood is a God given gift. We are here to help raise happy and healthy children and give these young women all the tools to have a good life. We have a good team! They are full of love, faith, and hope, and their abundant dedication gives them the strength to achieve our goal. In February, our residents and members of neighboring village communities took part in the religious ritual called “Trndez.” Please see the picture below that includes the participation of the priest.

LIGHT OF HOPE

We continue to give aid to the individuals who send us letters of requests from all regions of Armenia, including Artsakh. The foundation continues to give out blankets, clothing, and shoes to every Syrian family that comes through our doors.We have also given wedding gowns to brides–to-be in many different villagesWe have added three new villages on our map. We gave aid to 94 needy families in the frontier community of Dastakert in the Syunik region as well as more than 180 families in the villages of Aghavnavank and Ditavan in the Tavush region.  The needy people received bags of clothes, shoes, toys and items of necessity from our foundation.
