MYRADOON
One of the most important aspects of our programs is teaching our residents new skills and multiple ways to earn a living in order to gain financial independence. We are happy to announce that we have added a new employee to our staff” Angela”. She teaches English language and computer classes to our residents and after classes she is always there to answer their questions. Through the years we have had a lot of volunteers who taught English conversation to our residents for limited times. Now Angela teaches on daily basis to make it more effective.
Our girls have fixed hours for helping us in the kitchen. Our cook works hard controlling and maintaining the kitchen and making sure that it is always spotless. Cleanliness is our #1 priority and all of our residents know that we will tolerate nothing less.
POST-SHELTER
We are very pleased to see that our post-shelter program is working successfully. 4 of our post shelter program children go to the kindergarten which is under our sponsorship. Under our supervision, the mother receives clothing, shoes, and food that supplement her income from the job that we have helped her obtain.
Former residents who gave birth in our center, or just lived and received education, now visit us, and we provide them with the things that they need. This month a seminar was organized for our residents with Emma Ghazarian from CA. Some of our former residents participated, as well. At the end of the class Emma presented them with facial and hand creams.
We continue our “FEED THE ELDERS” and “BIBLE STUDY” programs. Our founder gave her last bible study before her departure on Oct 17. Now they are back in the US working from there. Four new elders were added to our growing Feed the Elders Program. We pray to keep this ongoing and hope to do it twice a week as the elders are hungry and begging for a second day every week.
AID TO SYRIAN REFUGEES & FAMILIES IN REMOTE AREAS
We continue to give aid to Armenian families who have fled the war in Syria and came to Armenia with little to nothing. They appear on our doorsteps on a daily basis. We also continue to give aid to individuals and families from remote villages that write to us for help.
We distribute clothing, blankets, wedding gowns, shoes, toys, walkers, wheelchairs, bedside toilets, and household necessities from our warehouse.
This month as usual we distributed our monthly sponsorship funds and gave clothes to each member of the sponsored families.
We express our deep gratitude to Natali Pharm for donating organic HIPP baby food. And to our volunteer General Doctor, Gynecologist and Dentists who continue their charity work, by providing a much needed medical care and attention to the abused women and children at our shelter and also to the participants of our “Feed the Elders” and “Bible Study” programs.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DO THIS WORK. PLEASE SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS WITH THE UNFORTUNATE….
Please make your heartfelt donations.
