 MYRADOON 

We started May with birthday party. On May 2nd  was Gor’s  first birthday party. His mother is 18 years old. They came  to our center from Tavush region. Her husband left her and the baby in the streets, she had nowhere to go.
Our girls participate in sewing, computer, English, manicure/pedicure, hairstyling, and cooking classes.  They make aprons, table clothes and other creative things.
We  celebrated  Ascension of Christ in our center.  Our residents were so excited, they danced under traditional Armenian music with the staff.

 

 AID TO THE COMMUNITIES 

We continue to help those who send us letters of requests, list of extended families from the communities who need clothes, shoes, bags and other necessary items.  Our staff went to distribute to  Noramarg village in Ararat region.
Please help us help these desperate needy Armenians !

NEWS FROM USA  

Hovig and Houri Mgerdichian from the Mormons in Utah gathered a 27 ft container full with pampers, wheelchairs, soaps, new clothing and shoes, and funds to ship to Armenia. The Armenian youth packed the items.
Our gratitude goes to Harout Bekearian for driving this container; a 16 hour drive from Utah to Long Beach.
Meanwhile at their arrival  the Ghazarian grandchildren and Zaher’s boys came to our rescue weighed and tagged every box. Soon we will ship another container. God blesses all that give back to his people.

 

NEWS FROM ARMENIA

  • Mesrobian school students with few teachers and Anchor parents visited our center with a bus load of students. They sponsored “Feed the Elders” program for that day.The students served the elders and toured the facility mingled with the residents and enjoyed the children by playing with them. Enjoyed a hot delicious meal prepared for them.
  •  Boulghourjian and Bablanian families from  Australia visited our center. It was a moving experience for both.They showered the children with presents. They sponsored ”Feed the elders,, program and served the elders. Toured around the center, then we went to see the kindergarten and post shelter, they played with our kids ,enjoyed their time in our center. Boulghourjian family also met with their sponsored family.

  • Natali Pharm for donating organic Hipp baby food for our children enough, and extra to distribute to the needy.
  • General doctor Susana Onanyan, Gynecologist Yeva Torosyan and our dentist Armine from Lux Med Dental Clinic who continue their charity work, serving our residents, and participants of ALCF programs.

Our container was shipped to Armenia

May 11, 2016

Today we shipped our container to Armenia with friends and cousins helping made it more rewarding sharing our joy of giving to the Armenian refugees of Syria.  We also shipped 3 of 26 pallets of pampers donated by Pedig & Maro Fermanian of Super King Market. We are so grateful for this huge donation. God bless them and their families in abundance! Then we got together for dinner at the Ghazarian home to celebrate our joy.

 MYRADOON 

This month our residents started working in the green house. Soon we will have lots of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. We promote the work of green house and  teach most of our residents how to grow and maintain vegetable crops, because many of our residents come from farming communities.It is essential to their survival when they leave the shelter.
We do our best to give them different venues to learn and work to earn money. We help   them  save for their future independence and healthy living outside our shelter.
Our residents continue their classes of sewing, computer, English, manicure/pedicure, hair styling, and cooking. With our founder Mrs. Seta, they did Bible study classes as well.

As soon as Seta Ghazarian came to Armenia, she organized baptism. We celebrated the baptism of twenty-four children with their mothers.  Twenty-one of them  were the residents of our center,it was a great celebration.
On April 7 we celebrated Mother’s day in Ptghunq kindergarten, they honored the kindergarten benefactor Seta Ghazarian.

 AID TO THE COMMUNITIES 

ALCF continues its light of hope program. We traveled to Paruyr Sevak village in Ararat  region and Jrashen village in Armavir region,we distributed necessary items to families in need. As always,we received lots of letters of requests.
We continue to help Syrian refugees who come to our doors.
Ani & Seta Mirzaian donated funds to purchase counter-top ovens for the Syrian-Armenians, we started distributing to the needy.

OUR GRATITUDE GOES TO

  • Sarmen and Talar Boghosian for donating lots of baby clothing, shoes and accessories. They spent time with the children. We welcome all visitors.
  • Natali Pharm for donating Hipp baby food in abundance.

 

 

Our founder left Armenia end of April to continue her noble work in America. Our staff and residents said their good byes and wished her a safe flight.

EVENTS & MYRADOON 

       This month was full of joyful events and celebrations!!!    

  •  Our Founder/Executive Director Seta Ghazarian came to Armenia. She brought gifts and joy to our center. It’s always amazing to see Mrs. Seta in our center.
  • We celebrated Palm Sunday in Parakar church. Our founder  brought with her 200 crosses made of palm leaves from America. The ladies of the 40 Martyrs church gifted those to us through Maro Tufenkjian a friend of Mrs. Seta. All the parishioners enjoyed wearing these crosses. It was something new to experiencein Armenia.
  • We also celebrated Easter. Our residents went to church and afterwards they gathered around the table which was full of Easter goodies.
  •  With our assistant managers, the residents of Myradoon,  17 mothers and 26 children  went to  Yerevan State Puppet Theater and had a great and unforgettable time.

 

AID TO THE COMMUNITIES

We continue our humanitarian work.  The team of ALCF with  Seta Ghazarian and the sponsors do their  best to solve the problems of the needy  who come to our doors. This month our staff went to Vartanashen village in region Armavir  and distributed aid to 85 families.
As soon as Mrs. Seta came to Armenia she went to  Darpnik  village  where  lots of Syrian –  Armenians live. We give special attention to the problems of Syrian refugees and do our best to give a helping hand to all the Syrians.

 

 OUR GRATITUDE GOES TO

  • Armenian Tree Project  /ATP/ for donating 250 evergreen.
  • Twenty volunteers from UN Armenia for joining ATP and helping us with the tree planting.
  • Arsine Sahakyan and Armine Baghdasaryan from Vision International People group for organizing seminar for our residents and staff about health and hygiene.

  MYRADOON

Our Hot Line number (free of charge to the caller: 20-80) rings more often than ever. The residents are increasing in our shelter.

This month seven more women found shelter in Myradoon, with their innocent children. At the end of February,we already had 16 mothers  and 23 children living in the shelter.We also have a newborn baby boy Arman.

We do our utmost to help our residents tosolve their problems. We create   opportunities for them to start a new life.

Our residents made a great and unforgettable performance in our center. They performed  the death of Kikos which is well known  story   written by famous  poet Tumanyan.  They designed and sewed their dance costumes in our sewing room. It was an amazing night!

We celebrated two of our children’s birthday parties together. We are grateful to  Dan Desert for providing  us with two delicious cakes.

We celebrated Armenian traditional Trndez with our residents and staff. Ter Partev Kahana

came and explained  us about the meaning of  Trndez…

 

AID TO THE COMMUNITIES

ALCF continues it’slight of hope program. We distributed necessary items to families in need. As always, this month as well, we received a lot of letters of requests.We gave humanitarian aid to the  Ejmiatsin school pupils. We continue to help Syrian refugees who come to our doors.

NEWS AND EVENTS

Our 40 ft container left the CA warehouse on January 28th  heading to Armenia thanks to all the donors to make it happen.
138 people attended the power point event on the Navigator of the seas Armenian Heritage Cruise talk, given by Seta Ghazarian representing ALCF programs in Armenia.

Our volunteer Dr. Susanna Onanyan came to our center and checked our residents and the participants of “Feed the Elders” program. She gave them medicines.
Our gratitude goes to Hayk Varuzhan Berberian from London for providing us with medications.
His son came and took photos while Dr. Onanyan was checking…
Our gratitude goes to Jirair Altunyan from California who came to our center and  gave Christmas presents to all our little residents.

MYRADOON
We continue our vocational training classes in our Myradoon. We do our utmost to have a positive effects on the lives and well being of our residents and their children. We teach them to appreciate their God-given gift of motherhood.
This month one of our residents Tatev who had come to our center on December 18th2014 went back to her husband. We are happy to save a family, what a Blessing!

 

 

PROGRAMS 

We continue our Bible Study classes with the leadership of Armenian Apostolic church priest. January 6th Father Partev did the Christmas celebration, the water Blessing (Jrorhneq) and blessed the whole center. All our residents plus people from neighboring villages attended the ceremony. He also blessed our food and then we celebrated the birth of Jesus and his Baptism.
Our “Feed the elders” program continues twice a week, participants are so excited, they wait for the luncheon days with great enthusiasm.

MYRADOON 

 

Residents always increase in number in the month of December because of the cold weather and holidays. A woman who has 3 children came to our center but only with two. one was left behind with relatives.She was abused both psychologically and physically by her husband. Now her husband is in jail because of raping underaged girls and robbery. Her older son who is 9 has problems.Seeing all these abuse,never been to school, beats his mother and cannot interact with children, our psychologist works both with him and the mother to overcome this situation.

Though the shelter is full of mothers and children, love and friendly attitude governs. We have a very healthy atmosphere in our center. This month one of our residents delivered a baby girl with C-section. She was named Margarita.
We also celebrated our youngest resident’s 40 days being on Earth… she is offered to our Lord to be blessed..

We invited a clown and cartoon heroes and celebrated Christmas with residents and “Sponsor a Family” program participants.
At the end of the year we organized a great festivity for our residents and gave them a traditional Armenian New Year’s eve, with lots of food and gifts.

 PROGRAMS

We are happy to announce that an anonymous donor pledged and donated a second luncheon per week for “Feed the Elders” program for the entire 2016. It was a great undertaking. We have changed the lunch day, now it’s on Tuesdays and Fridays. 

We continue our Bible Study classes with the leadership of Father Partev of Parakar’s St. Mary’s Church. Every Friday lots of Christians from neighboring villages come to our center.
Our volunteer doctors continue their charity work.

 AID TO THE COMMUNITIES 

 

We are blessed that we are able to provide the underprivileged people, who send us letters of requests, with clothes, shoes, bags and other necessary items thanks to our supporters.
We continue to help Syrian refugees who come to our doors.
We distributed our monthly sponsorship funds for January, end of December. Gave them clothes, milk and tea.

AID TO THE COMMUNITIES

ALCF visited Goghtanik and New Aznaberd villages in Vayots Dzor region. They are both 200 km away. They don’t have communal accommodations. People are very poor and should travel 20 km to get to a shop. They were thrilled to receive their aid.

We received lots of letters from families of different communities requesting, clothes, shoes, bags and other necessary items. We continue to help Syrian refugees with everything they need.

 

 

 

MYRADOON

As its  gets colder the residents increase in numbers in our shelter.  We have two new residents, one is Russian, married to an Armenian man, who drank and beat her constantly: she has a son and pregnant.

We are thankful that Zepure Ohannessianof OC started a new art classes this summer, they draw and color designs on their hand made scarfs. In November, staff and residents started to decorate the center for the New Year’s!

 

 

 

 

We celebrated  two birthday parties this month. A resident dressed as a clown ,surprised our children. We try  to make our resident’s life Joyful. We want to thank Dan Desert cake company for supplying our children with birthday cakes. We thrive to add more companies to assist us in our efforts to provide for our residents.

MYRADOON

As long as our founders are in Armenia, they do everything to make our residents life more interesting.Residents go to church every Sunday and after church, they take them either to a playground or for lunch with play area to make their weekends more fun . This time the founders took the residents toTashir Pizza in Etchmiazin . The residents were so excited.

 Three new residents with their children came to our center. One of them is 17 years old with a newborn. She came here straight from the hospital. No parents, no relatives. The man left her as he had nowhere to take her to live.

 The residents are increasing in our shelter, and almost every month we have a birthday. This month was little Alis’s birthday. Our girls participate in our classes of sewing, computer, English, manicure/pedicure, hair styling, and cooking.

 

GUESTS

Days are so busy in our center.  Every day new and interesting programsare implemented.This monthDr. SedaBoghossian from England came to our center and did checkups  on the Feed the Elders program participants.   Anahit Ananianfrom California started doing seminars after Bible Study,which takes place every Friday in our center.  Her lectures are about health points and how to keep us healthy with easy methods. They love it!!!

 

 

AID TO THE COMMUNITIES

ALCF continues its “Light of Hope” program. We continue to baptise people of all ages who are willing, and also our residents in our shelter. This month we baptized twelve new Christians  five of which  were the residents of our center.

We continue to help those who are in need.As usual we distributed our monthly sponsorship funds, and gave clothes to each member of the sponsored families.

Our founders left Armenia end of October to continue their noble work in America. Our residents and staff said their good byes and wishedthem a safe flight.

MYRADOON

    Our shelter is full of life. Our residents are extremely busy. We would like to thank Nargis Akmakjian from Orange County,California. Shecame to our centerthis month  and taught our residents hair cutting andstyling.  She cut ’s hair, they are so excited with their new look. The girls had a lot of fun. She distributed combs, brushes and scissors.

We are already preparing for our winter food, freezing and canning vegetables.

We always have something to celebrate. This month was Atamhatik /first tooth/ for 7 months old Luiza. We had a party with lots of children and moms. Nargis Akmakjian was the host and the donor.

We also celebrated the baptism of children with their mothers and grandmothers, six of which were the residents of our center.It was a great celebration of  seventeen  new Christians!!!

AID TO THE COMMUNITIES
