NEWS & EVENTS

  • Armenian Lighthouse Charitable Foundation celebrated Labor Day by doing a fun photoshoot with our little ones, featuring different professions. Our kids dressed up as a teacher, fireman, hairdresser, farmer, soldier, doctor, accountant and cook.
  • We are delighted to announce that our Lavash (flatbread) bakery which was donated by AYF NORTH Valley “ARTSHAKH” chapter is now officially open! After months of hard work and preparation, we’re thrilled to have delicious and freshly baked lavash for the residents of ALCF .
  • ALCF recently had the pleasure of hosting a visit from  Armenian Mesrobian School at our center, It was an enriching experience for both the students and our team. The day began with a warm welcome as the students arrived, accompanied by their teachers and parents. Our team had prepared a comprehensive itinerary to ensure that the students had a meaningful and engaging visit.

 

MYRADOON 

  • The residents of ALCF continue to take part in English, computer, sewing, manicure and hairdressing classes, cooking and dancing classes. These vocational training programs are about empowering our women to rebuild their lives, regain their confidence, and forge their own paths towards a brighter future. It is a testament to their resilience and the unwavering support of our center.
  • On May 9th the little residents of ALCF visited the war memorial to pay their respects to those who fought and died in the war. For many children, this is an important tradition that helps them understand the sacrifices made by their ancestors.
  • The “Hachn” Dance Ensemble invited our residents to their highly anticipated concert! It was a delightful event that brought together women and children from our center, creating a magical atmosphere filled with joy, laughter, and cultural appreciation.
  • All the residents of  ALCF celebrated the glorious Ascension of Jesus Christ. Our girls collected flowers from the field, then played “Vichak” and got wishes. And the children praised our staff, in return for which they were treated with sweets.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • The residents of ALCF with all Armenians celebrated “Tsaghkazard” (Palm Sunday) at the church. This holiday takes place on the last Sunday of Lent a week before Easter. In “Tsaghkazard” churches give children blessings, as this holiday is also declared as a blessing day for children.
  • The Members of the Child Evangelism Fellowship visited ALCF. They had prepared an interesting program about Easter, which included fun games, songs, a cartoon watching and discussion. And at the end the kids were treated with sweets.
  • The residents of ALCF celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ․ We went church, enjoyed a family meal and simply took a moment to appreciate the beauty of springtime.
  • There`s nothing quite like celebrating this special day with kids. Watching their eyes light up as they search for Easter eggs, hearing their excited giggles as they discover the candies inside, and seeing their smiles as they spend time with family and friends.

 

MYRADOON

  • Our vocational trainings are still ongoing and ALCF is continuing to offer individuals the opportunity to acquire new skills and take their careers to the next level. The residents of ALCF take part in English, computer, sewing, manicure and hairdressing classes, cooking and dancing classes. Here’s just a few of the benefits our lessons provide: A strong foundation for academic success, social and emotional development, creative expression, confidence and independence, and a love of learning.
  • The residents of ALCF celebrated Nune`s, Angelina`s and Hrach`s birthdays. On their special day, all members wished them happiness, love, and joy that life has to offer.
  • 24.04.2023 marked the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The little residents of Armenian Lighthouse Charitable Foundation had a lesson about Armenian Genocide, and then they made crafts about our writers and visited the monument of Komitas.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • The Members of the Child Evangelism Fellowship visited ALCF. They sang, played games with kids, and entertained the young residents with sweets.
  • The residents of ALCF celebrated International women`s day. They sang, danced, quoted poems and enjoyed their day. ALCF, in turn, prepared beautiful gifts for them.
  • We celebrated Armenian traditional Mijink at the center. The eldest member of our big family prepared a Gata, in which she put a coin. Then the Gata was distributed to all the members of ALCF. Whoever gets the coin gets a present.
  • We are grateful to 15 Students of Alpha Epsilon Omega from Cal State Northridge University who came Monday the 20th and volunteered at ALCF warehouse preparing the donated goods for Armenia.

 

MYRADOON 

  • Vocational trainings are going on. The residents of ALCF take part in English, computer, sewing, manicure, hairdressing, cooking and dancing classes. These lessons give them a variety of options to become self-dependent.
  • The residents of ALCF celebrated Anzhela`s (a Mom’s) birthday. They wished her a blessed year and a wonderful day.
  • The little residents of ALCF continue to enjoy the sunny spring days. They played outdoor games.
  • Our resident Nektar gave a birth to a boy. All residents wished them good health and many colorful and happy days.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • Christian a friend of the Hachikian family delivered to our warehouse numerous boxes of pampers, soaps, stainless steel pots, wipes, toothpaste and brushes plus lots of packed clothing for ALCF shelter in Armenia. All were donated by many Newport Beach families.
  • The Members of the Child Evangelism Fellowship visited ALCF. They prepared nice holly songs, entertained the young residents with sweets.
  • The whole residents of ALCF celebrated Armenian traditional Trndez. The residents jumped over the fire and enjoyed delicious dessert prepared for them.

 

MYRADOON 

  • Vocational trainings are going on. The residents of ALCF take part in English, computer, sewing, manicure and hairdressing classes, cooking and dancing classes. The lessons can be powerful tools for women who are looking to improve their lives and reach their full potential.
  • As we had a very sunny February our residents enjoyed their days in the center. The children spent beautiful days at the playground.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • ALCF received a large donation from the Chatoyan family. They came to our warehouse with new boxes, created 4 pallets of new clothing and packed 10000 pieces of cloths donated by them (24/7 comfort apparel) for Armenia. They worked 7 hours nonstop.
  • The Members of the Child Evangelism Fellowship visited ALCF. They  entertained the young residents and gave presents.
  • ALCF received 5 madaghs (lambs) donations from different people in Armenia. We organized luncheons for each of them. We are very grateful for their donations. Your support and efforts help us a lot to feed all the residents and the elders as well.

 

MYRADOON 

  • Vocational trainings are ongoing. The residents of ALCF take part in English, computer, sewing, manicure and hairdressing classes, cooking and dancing classes. The lessons help them become livelier and eager to continue their lives happier.
  • The center continues accepting women and their children affected by abuse and domestic violence. The foundation is doing its best to fulfill all their needs.
  • As we had a very snowy January our residents enjoyed their days in the center. They went out, made snowman, played snowballs.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • The famous fashion designer Kevork Shadoyan visited ALCF. He had a very interesting class dedicated to the world of bright colors. Residents had a very nice day enriching their knowledge.
  • Members of the Child Evangelism Fellowship visited ALCF. The little residents learnt new games and songs, listened to moral stories from Bible and received sweets from them. 
  • The staff of ALCF visited Ptghunk kindergarten named after Mr. and Mrs. Ghazarian and Musaler kindergarten. The center prepared presents for the children, they in turn prepared a nice Christmas performance.
  • On the eve of New Year, ALCF prepared a big Christmas luncheon and party for the elders of the “Feed the Elders” program. Santa came and entertained them, gave presents and then they had a full Christmas meal.

 

MYRADOON

  • The residents of ALCF continue attending various classes. English, computer, sewing, manicure and hairdressing. ALCF continues to help residents understand and find the profession that matches their preferences by receiving knowledge of the given field. As our slogan says: new knowledge, new opportunities, and new life.
  • The residents of ALCF celebrated Yelena’s and Arman’s birthdays. They wished them all the best and had a great time.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • The center was full of care and love. The staff of the program “ES KAM” visited ALCF. Mothers and children shared and talked about their stories, their wishes and dreams. Thanks “ES KAM” for such a great opportunity.
  • Members of the Child Evangelism Fellowship visited ALCF. The little residents danced, learnt new songs and received sweets.  It was an unforgettable day for the children.
  • ALCF hosted Doctor Suzanna Onanyan․The residents had a question-answer session that were of the most interest for them, discussed some issues about condoms and how to be protected from unexpected pregnancies. Thank you Dr Suzanna for your  continuous  support.

 

MYRADOON

  • The residents of ALCF go on deepening their skills. They take part in various classes English, computer, sewing, manicure and hairdressing classes.
  • We organized a great christening ceremony for 8 moms and children of our Myradoon shelter. The residents got baptized in our church/chapel and after the main ceremony they enjoyed desserts made specially for them.
  • We get a lot of calls from abused women and their children. ALCF accepts them if they qualify to our programs.

  • The center was full of love and warmth. There was a burger party at ALCF. The founders of ALCF made fresh and tasty burgers for the staff and the residents.
  • ALCF donated medical supplies to Armavir MC.We are very grateful to all the supporters and donors who help us make this big program happen.
  • Many guests from different parts of the world visited ALCF. They had tours around the center, got acquainted with the current programs and made donations of money and food.

 

MYRADOON 

  • The center goes on conducting vocational trainings for the residents of ALCF. They take part in English, computer, sewing and manicure classes. The lessons help them gain new skills and knowledge.
  • Bible Study classes are ongoing at ALCF. The priest and the founder of ALCF hold the classes every Friday with new themes and interpret the themes to implement them in their lives.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • ALCF helped Bagaran village located in the Armavir Province of Armenia near the Armenia-Turkey border with physical efforts of Bedros Tomassian and the village Mayor. We distributed clothes, shoes, blankets and toys to the 50 underprivileged families.
  • Our vocational trainings made it possible to send one of our residents Lilit for a special course of bookkeeping. ALCF congratulates her for successfully completing the course and getting her certificate.
  • Hovig Megerdichian, Adel Megerdichian, Garine and Harout Bekearrian and Kyorkchian families sponsored a beautiful luncheon in memory of the passed family members. They served the elders 3 coarse meal. We enjoyed their company and their blessings. They expressed that their visit to ALCF was the highlight of their trip.
  • Donate $200 in memory of a loved one and we will give a three coarse meal luncheon in their memory for our elders and residents. It will even be tax deductible. $300 will have a full lamb cooked and distributed to everyone.

  • The cases of abuse and domestic violence have increased. ALCF goes on accepting women and their children affected by domestic violence and abuse.

NEWS & EVENTS

  • ALCF celebrated little Anahit’s and Elsay’s birthdays. We hired a clown to visit our center and entertain the little residents, wishing them colorful childhood.
  • Our Day Care children had a farewell performance. They said goodbye to Day Care and are ready to start school. Our founders Mr and Mrs Ghazarian also participated in the event and wished them all the best in school.
  • Der Karegin Badourian of 40 Martyr’s Church donated 10 Google Chrome computers for our schoolchildren. They were so happy to receive the gifts and were eager to learn as much as possible. We are very grateful for his donation.
  • Our sponsors Serge and Helen Gharakhanian of Glendale visited ALCF center and gave presents to all the little residents of the center. We appreciate the time they spent in our center.

 

MYRADOON

  • The residents of ALCF continue taking part in English, computer, sewing and manicure classes. With the help of the lessons they gain new skills and self-confidence to take charge of their lives.
